San Jacinto College District
Houston, Texas
This project is a 75,000 square foot training facility to house training programs. The foundation for the building is a slab-on-grade with drilled and under-reamed piers that support steel columns. There is a mezzanine floor that covers a portion of the overall building plan, and it is designed as a composite concrete and steel framing system. The pitched roof consists of a metal roof deck supported by beams and open web steel joists. Lateral forces superimposed on the building structure are resisted by a combination of both braced and moment frames.
